History/Overview
Introduced in 2012, the Audi A7 has been a surprising success for the brand in a luxury marketplace dominated by crossovers and SUVs. The A7 combines the luxurious appointments of the A6 and A8 sedans with SUV-like cargo space under its big hatchback cargo door.
What’s New/Key Changes From Last Year
This year, the A7 gains a handful of new standard features, which we’ve detailed below.
Available Trims
Audi offers the A7 in Progressiv and Technik trims. Both are powered by a 3.0L turbo V6 with mild hybrid assist, which is mated to a seven-speed transmission and AWD.
Standard Features
Progressiv trim’s new features are 20-inch wheels (replacing last year’s 19-inchers), and rear side airbags, both of which used to be options. Items carried over from 2022 include a panoramic roof, auto-dimming/power-folding side mirrors, LED headlights/taillights, heated front/rear seats, leather upholstery, and three-zone A/C. Infotainment-wise, there’s a 10.6-inch touchscreen, navigation, a toll transponder, garage door remote, wireless phone charging, and digital gauges.
The A7’s standard driver assist suite comprises automatic high beams, rain-sensing wipers, forward collision mitigation, lane departure warning, TPMS, blind spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and front and rear parking sensors.
This year’s Technik trim adds two new parking features: remote park assist, and park assist with parking system plus. Otherwise, like last year, Technik adds upgraded headlights with washers, adaptive wipers, four-zone A/C, ventilated front seats, power door closers, rear window shades, upgraded audio, and a head-up display. This trim also adds a bunch of safety assists: top-view camera, rear collision mitigation, adaptive cruise, active lane departure warning, intersection/traffic jam/turn/emergency assistance, and loose wheel bolt detection.
Key Options
In Progressiv trim, a new vorsprung edition package adds 21-inch wheels, top-view camera, rear window sunshade, and upgraded interior lighting.
You can also add a matrix LED headlight package, and a driver assistance pack that includes all of Technik’s advanced safety features.
Technik’s options include massaging front seats, leather dash trim, and Valcona/Milano leather upholstery.
Other available extras are laser headlights, all-wheel steering, and two adaptive suspension setups.
Fuel Economy
Audi’s fuel consumption estimates for the A7 are 11.1/7.8 L/100 km (city/highway).
Competition
The A7’s only true competitor is the Porsche Panamera.
